A late-night purchase from Hild Bros (IYKYK). Phenotypically, the most captivating donor on the farm. Gazelle necked, bold caged, phat cheeked and riddled with big white fur. Genetically, she has been one of our top producers. A female generator, 5 keeper ewes in 2023, most notably, she raised our Truce sired Bluegrass Babe is 2023, ‘Cupcake,’ that found her way to one of the most prominent breeders in the country, Joe and Megan Hobbs. Flush mate wethers landed in homes for Clay Elliot and Lane Hale. She also raised the Third Overall Heavyweight at West Virginia State Fair. Power in the blood – her Fowl Play grandma raised the Third Overall Hamp at OYE in 2023. We are pumped to see what her ACE OF SPADES flush will do.

After striking out on Clem’s Diva ewe in 2022, we were fortunate enough to snag our pick of the ewes in their annual yearling production sale. In her first two flushes, she produced females sold to Cade Moon and Chad Nahrup, a wether to Clay Elliot and two Truce keeper ewes in 2023 that will hit the donor pen in 2024. We double flushed her again for her 2024 crop to Hild’s Ace of Spades for Decembers and Beatty/Berry/Dale/TKM’s Blindside for Februarys.

This was our ‘pick of the ewe lambs’ from the December group in 2022 at Hild Bros. Brood Ewe Delux with a blood line that consistently generates big bodied, stout sheep. Her 78 mom is a full sib in blood to our Reserve Crossbred at the Ohio State Fair in 2019 for the Johnson Family. Tyson Goretska showed her mom to the backdrop quite a few times in 2020, most notably winning their district show in Iowa. An FF x FF mating herself, we knew she would be the perfect candidate to flush to Sloan’s GRINCH for early Decembers.

Saban on Blue Light’s mom – a ewe that stopped us in our tracks when we were sorting yearlings in Marcellus, Michigan last spring, and ultimately a no brainer to dig in on this one regardless of her final price point given her mother’s track record. We flushed her twice as a virgin yearling, first to Sloan’s GRINCH for early Decembers, and then to Allen/Newcomb’s UNICORN for February’s.

Hendrickson from 2022. She found the backdrop quite a few times
that summer in Ohio, Virginia and West Virginia. She won her class
in the wether show at Keystone in PA, so it was a no brainer for her
to directly enter the flush pen as a virgin. We flushed her to Allen/
Newcomb’s FATHER FIGURE, Neff/MacLennan’s 10 BEARS and bred her back naturally to FATHER FIGURE.

In 2023 she had our lead consignment to Main Event, purchased by McCurdy’s, a wether successfully campaigned by Cole Kuhn in PA that found the backdrop three times last summer, and a keeper ewe lamb. Flushed to Hild’s RIDE TIME for Decembers and flushed again to HC’s BOOGEYMAN for Febs.
